Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Missed

In Hammond, Indiana a jury has awarded a family 4.45 million dollar decision. Forty-five year old Roger Vuckovich was diagnosed with a kidney stone in the emergency room of St. Catherine’s Hospital. He was released and died twelve hours later because of an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Holly Wojcik and Barry Rooth, the family’s attorneys, argued that Roger’s death could have been avoided if Dr. Rajeev Sareen had ordered a CT scan to more accurately diagnose Roger’s condition.
